MEET OUR TEAM

Joelle Szychowski, Founder

Joelle was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania and raised in Bel Air, Maryland. At age 2, Joelle began dancing. She has studied at Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, Nashville Ballet, and Dance Conservatory Maryland. In 2018 she graduated from Goucher College with a B.A. in Dance Performance and Choreography and a B.A. in Mathematics. In 2019, she created Ballet Nocturne to make a space for dancers who do not have a space now. She now teaches dance at various studios across the Baltimore region.

Tamar Reisner-Stehman

Solo/Guest Instructor (Contemporary, Ballet/Pointe)

Tamar began dancing at an early age near Philadelphia, PA, studying ballet, modern, jazz, among other styles. In 2018, she graduated Goucher College with a B.A. in Dance and shortly after completed her Pilates certification. She has trained with studios such as Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet and Charm City Ballet, and currently teaches dance and Pilates and performs in the Baltimore region.

Katherine Morris

Guest Instructor (Ballet)

Katherine Murphy Morris grew up in Bethesda Maryland, and joined the PA Ballet company in 1977.  After retirement , she continued to teach for the Rock School of the PA Ballet for 20 years. She also taught at Bryn Mawr and Swarthmore Colleges, as well as at the Peabody Institute . She currently teaches at Goucher College.

Rebecca Hersey

Instructor (Modern)

A resident of Harford County, Maryland, Rebecca Hersey started dancing at the age of three. She danced at the Rage Box Contemporary Dance Center for seven years, where she trained in ballet, modern, pointe, jazz, and lyrical. Rebecca was also a member of the Rage Box Dance Company, where she competed in several group and solo performances. Since she started at the Rage Box, Rebecca has been a teaching assistant for a variety of classes and levels. Rebecca is was a teacher at Ragebox, as well as a few other studios throughout Maryland. She was also a member of Eclipse Performing Dance Company, where she has performed several shows with them such as Chicago, The Nutcracker, and Beauty and the Beast. Rebecca graduated from Dean College where she received a performing arts scholarship and studied Dance and English. While attending Dean, she was on the Dean’s List and was able to take classes from renowned teachers such as Todd Shanks, Jill Silverman, Laura Young, and Shura Baryshnikov. Rebecca is currently living in Madrid, Spain, and has been teaching English for the past year.

Sarah Clark

Guest Instructor (Yoga)

Sarah Clark, CYT 200, is an Aquarius Sun, Sagittarius Moon, and Libra Rising; which basically means whatever she wants it to mean. Sarah studied art history, dance, and psychology at Goucher College. As a child, Sarah loved the arts and often walked into walls, so her parents enrolled her in dance classes at the age of 8, she has been moving ever since. Sarah spent the three months of quarantine receiving her yoga training online and managing the @nocontextcreek Twitter and Instagram accounts. One day, she hopes to teach yoga in person.

Sarah Pacheco

Solo/Guest Instructor (Gyrotonic, Contemporary)

Sarah Pacheco is a 23-year-old Latina/Latinx of Mexican descent. Originally from California, she moved to New York City to pursue a career in dance. She has a passion for dance, travel, and learning about multiculturalism. Sarah is a proud graduate of Goucher College where she received a B.A in Dance and Business Management with a Concentration in Arts Administration. She is drawn to working in settings where the presenter and audience have the opportunity to teach each other and grow as individuals, leaving more aware than when they entered. In her work, Sarah is detail-oriented and thrives in collaborative spaces.

Upon moving to New York City, Sarah became a Certified GYROTONIC® apprentice teacher through the training of Billy Macagnone at Body Evolutions Eat Village. In June of 2019, Sarah completed an intense foundations seminar kickstarting her training and love for the work. Since then, it has been amazing for her body and mind, and she is still in the process of unfolding more. In addition to teaching GYROTONIC® , she has experience teaching children and teens dance, ranging from modern, ballet, and jazz, to free movement classes.​

Raven Nee

Guest Instructor (Improv)

Raven graduated from Goucher College. She is the founder of Corvinum Dance.

Eliza Malecki

Solo Instructor (Modern Fusion)

Eliza Malecki is a Boston-based dancer, choreographer, administrator, and producer from central Massachusetts. She graduated magna cum laude from Goucher College in 2018 with a BA in Dance and spent a semester in Arezzo, Italy at the Accademia dell’Arte. Eliza was a Young Artist in Residence at Bearnstow in Mt. Vernon, ME, where she studied with renowned international dance faculty  for ten weeks.

Eliza is a founding member of 3 Spice Dance, which fosters dance collaboration between Bearnstow alumni in the Boston area and The Picnic Sisters, a quirky dancing duo comprised of herself and collaborator Molly Hess. In 2019 she co-produced her first show, Laugh Track, which featured both dancers and stand up comedians in two nights of laughter and community.

 

Eliza served as Studio Manager at Green Street Studios for 2 wonderful years, and now performs with Natalie Johnson Dance and works with children at Pierce Elementary School in Brookline. Eliza's choreographic works-which display strong inventive movement, pedestrian gestures, and an undeniably unique sense of humor- have been presented in Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, Rhode Island, and Arezzo, Italy.
